Now booking Maternity through 1 year!

I am super emotional about business changes. Change is always different and ( exciting, exhausting, stressful, nerve-wracking, and everything in-between) but I think these changes will be for the better!

Last year I made the decision to not work weekends anymore, and it has been the best decision I have made for my family. I found myself working every weekday and then shooting all weekend long, thus working 7 days a week, and never got to spend time with the family or doing anything for myself. As my kids are getting older, it only felt right to limit my shooting time on the weekend to maybe even one day a weekend, and even then I found myself accommodating everyone and shooting 9-10 sessions on a Sunday, and cramming everything into the one day.

At the end of the day, I want to be able to customize sessions and be more creative with the shoots, and Im not able to do that on my own and I most definitely don’t have the energy to do that many in a row!

Spreading it out on the weekdays has been so much better mentally for myself, my family, and thus for my clients. You’ll get more attention from me this way and more creative imagery.

So here’s the next change…. I will only be shooting Newborn through 1 years of age. eeek! While I love seeing all of my repeat families throughout the years for shoots beyond 1 year, I just cannot accommodate every single session.  For the longest time there has been only one of me, and I am so incredibly thankful that I have an assistant, Desirae, now to help me, and coordinate the studio, AND SHOOT! She is going to be shooting a few things on behalf of JPP, she will be doing shoots that are on weekends, or shoots that are outside of my working hours. My new working hours are 5 days a week, with 2 evening shoots  a week dedicated to outdoor sunset shoots for either maternity or milestones. Most of my current clients have already met Desirae, as she is with me at every session. She has also done a few shoots for me as well! Desirae is passionate about photography, is great with kids and can shoot in or outside of the studio.

These changes are going to be awesome! We are super excited to narrow in our focus of speciality for me Maternity through 1 year, and Desirae 1 year and beyond , and additionally weekend shoots or evening shoots.

Twice a year I will be offering Late Spring Family Mini Session and Fall Mini sessions as normal! Stay up to date on those specials on my Facebook or Instagram pages.

We are excited for 2017! I have been updating the prop collection to include  some clothing for milestone sessions, 3,6,9 and 12 months, including cake smash outfits! We have also brought in a rack of Maternity wardrobe for maternity sessions both indoor and outdoor! Desirae and I  spent a significant amount of time at a workshop with Claudia Aguilar in Texas earlier this month and we have learned so much we are excited to bring to our clients!
